As the world continues to become increasingly fast-moving and chaotic, many of us are realising that our strength comes from finding our centre and staying in the eye of the storm. Challenging circumstances may surround us, but the opportunity is still there for us to find peace within.
You may have some areas of your life or body that are working well, and others that you feel would benefit from a little help or support. Reflexology can help to maintain what is working while gently transforming what is stuck or painful.
I offer a warm and friendly approach and like to spend a little time getting to know you before we start the first session. I find it helpful to explore what changes or improvements you would ideally like to make through reflexology.
I work from home in a personal space that is homely and individual. I bring intuition into my sessions where appropriate, often getting a sense of a colour energy towards the end of a session which can be illuminating on where you are at this present time.
Through working together, we can identify where you feel stuck, heavy or simply tense, and gradually help you to unwind and heal. I use a range of specialist techniques to allow more energy to flow, and my thirteen year reflexology experience and intuition is key to this practice. You can read more about what led me to reflexology in the About Me page.
When I practise reflexology I am giving focused attention to encourage gradual improvement, with gentle and positive feedback on issues being worked on.
Reflexology can particularly help in the following areas, but this is by no means an exhaustive list:
Stress and tension
Digestive problems
Fertility issues / PMT
Pregnancy-related conditions
Sleep disorders
Grief or trauma
Headaches / Sinusitis
Back pain
Arthritis
Age related aches and pains

Foot Reflexology is a natural, holistic therapy founded on the belief that there are reflex points on the feet which correspond to organs, systems and structures throughout the body. When a reflex point is stimulated on the feet it brings about a response in the corresponding organ or area, helping to restore balance and wellbeing. Evidence has been found for some form of foot and hand therapy being practised in China and Egypt more than four thousand years ago.
Reflexology works with the body's innate healing processes, and aims to treat the individual as a whole, creating harmony in both body and mind. It has the benefit of also being a deeply relaxing therapy, and during periods of relaxation the body takes the opportunity to heal, restore and energise itself. Over a course of treatments this state of relaxation becomes deeper and more established.
Reflexology is suitable for all ages, from baby to adult, and can be especially helpful for long-term and recurring conditions.
Facial Reflexology is especially good for tension headaches, sinus and hayfever symptoms, as well as conditions such as bruxism and Bell's Palsy. Skin texture and appearance of fine lines and wrinkles can reduce as skin and underlying muscles are worked, and receive improved blood flow. Facial reflexology is also very calming and rhythmic, and is great for clearing the mind, bringing improved focus and clarity.
Indian Head Massage stimulates blood flow, lymph and oxygen in your upper body. It is particularly good for general relaxation and helps relieve tension in the head, neck and shoulders, and can help ease headaches, migraines and sinus problems.
Reflexology is a wonderful way of maintaining your body's healthy balance and general wellbeing, giving you more energy to create the life you want.
Reflexology can induce a deep state of relaxation, which improves the flow of nutrients, oxygen and energy to all parts of the body, and helps with the removal of toxins.
Reflexology can be particularly helpful in managing many health conditions, especially constant or recurring ones that we might have come to accept over time as being a normal part of life.
Reflexology is performed entirely on the feet, ankles or hands, so the most you’ll have to do is take off your socks and roll up your trousers! During the treatment the client lies on their back on a reclining chair, supported by pillows and covered with a soft blanket to keep them warm.
And don’t worry - reflexology doesn't tickle! Many clients come to me with ticklish feet or worried about their feet being touched, but find they can relax and enjoy the benefits of Reflexology.
You might find some areas feel sensitive to the touch, but Reflexology does not involve hard pressing in the way something like a sports massage might. As a therapist I will be aware of the status of your feet, noticing how they feel, the temperature and colour. All these things play a part in understanding which areas of your body - as reflected through your feet - require a bit more care and attention.
Not necessarily, but after an initial course of treatment many people choose to check in monthly for a top-up, to help maintain their general wellbeing, or as a scheduled 'de-stress'. Other clients will get back in touch if they start feeling aches and pains, arranging treatments as and when they need them.
Everyone is different and the response to Reflexology can be immediate or sometimes take longer than one appointment, but often benefits can be seen after 4-5 sessions. Regular weekly or fortnightly treatments are best for the body properly beginning the self-healing process, and monthly sessions can then maintain the benefits.

Reflexologists cannot claim to diagnose or cure, but during a treatment we get 'feedback' as to which parts of the body are working well and which are not. Sometimes Reflexology will highlight a specific area which is struggling or working hard to maintain your wellbeing; if a particular reflex point shows this kind of reaction I'll discuss it with you at the end of the session.
